Tom Sarver
Tom Sarver
Tom Saver is a Pittsburgh artist working in painting, puppetry, site-specific installation and public art events. His works, often happening outside of traditional art venues, explore social issues and interactions. Some of Sarver’s projects have taken place on vacant lots, in empty storefronts, and at community festivals. Others have taken place at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, The Mattress Factory, Contemporary Craft, SPACE Gallery and The Carnegie Museum of Art.
For Eastside Gallery, Sarver will be showing a variety of drawings, collages, and paintings created from the late 1990’s through 2017. He will also be showing a collection of ceramics sculptures created between 2014 through 2017. The sculptures were created through hand-building as well as assembling wheel-thrown parts. Their shapes suggest UFO’s, abstracted creatures and primitive artifacts.
