Richard A Stoner

A series of silver prints in which fluid motion and stillness is the formal architecture.

A musical urge enters into my seeing, and I find it difficult to think of singular images. I prefer instead to stitch together groups of photographs where rhythm and pacing are important, as in a section of a piece of music.

My enthusiasm for the traditional black and white silver based photography is undiminished. Black and white abstracts the world immediately into a new visual language where red is gray and yellow is white.

The prints shown are all hand printed in my darkroom from medium format film negatives.
