Norman Brown

Norman Brown

I am the ninth child from a family of ten children. I grew up in Pittsburgh’s Hill District on Whiteside Road in the 1950’s and 1960’s

I am a self taught artist. My first one man show (after encouragement from my dear friend and roommate at that time, Charles Timbers) was held in the early summer of 1978.

My hope is that my artworks will evoke some eyebrow lifting, some smiles and laughs. I also hope it evokes a sense of wonder, and maybe mystery. Most of all, I hope it evokes a joy in the love of color and fantasy and the appreciation of the talents of the creative genius of all primitive peoples.

Since 1989 to the present I have been represented first by LaFond Galleries and now by Michael Hertrict Art and Frame on East Carson Street In Pittsburgh PA.

My works are part of many private and corporate collections in Pittsburgh and around the country.
