Artist's Statement

For years I worked with dyes making fabric wall hangings. I loved the brilliant transparent colors and the tactile and flexible handling of fabric. I moved away from that and involved myself with drawing, assemblage and mixed media work. I also began to make landscapes one day after being inspired by the view outside by studio window. I have continued to work from this specific scene. It seems to reinforce my sense of being here in this place at this time. These pieces are a part of this series.
